I’ll give you a quick summary of how Week Three works. You warm up by walking “briskly” for five minutes. Then, you do a 3 minute jog followed by a 2 minute walk – do that 5 times then cool down with another 5 minute walk.
Runner’s high has left the building.
Day 1: OMG MY LEGS. Seriously. I thought my legs below the knees were LITERALLY going to fall off. My calves instantly hurt once I started running. I cursed the hills in my neighborhood; I grunted at people as I passed them, I was d.r.a.g.g.i.n.g.
Day 2: Well, this week can bite my ass. I brought the dogs today because they were chomping at the bit about coming with me. So instead of taking my normal route, I hoofed it up one hill and then ran on the soccer fields. Which was a nice chance of pace. Literally. I slowed waaaaaaaaay down today. Between my dogs and their 3-legged friend Oliver the Great Dane, and my cankles – we didn’t do a great job. But! We finished. And that’s more than I can say for you people sitting on your couch reading this!
Day 3: Not too shabby! I was surprised that today didn’t kill me… I was for sure I’d have to call the husband to come pick me up from the soccer fields. I went early in the morning since the temperature was supposed to get in the high 70s, so that was a wise decision on my part. They whole time though, I was thinking of how awful Week 4 will be. UGH!
